Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Abroad Jobs mobile application and website at https://emps.co.in (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Abroad Jobs ("we," "us," or "our"). By downloading, installing, registering, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of Terms
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement. Use of the Service on behalf of a company or organisation requires authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
2. Description of Service
Abroad Jobs is a job portal platform connecting job seekers with recruiters and employers, with a focus on international job opportunities. The Service allows users to:
- Search, browse, and apply for job opportunities
- Create and manage professional job seeker profiles
- Upload resumes, certificates, and supporting documents
- Receive push notifications for job alerts and application updates
- Subscribe to premium plans for enhanced features
Recruiters additionally may:
- Register a verified company account by uploading company credentials
- Post and manage job listings
- Review candidate profiles and applications
- Access candidate contact details and resumes
- Subscribe to recruiter premium plans for advanced hiring tools
3. User Accounts and Registration
3.1 Account Creation
To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to keep your account information updated.
3.2 Recruiter Verification
Recruiter accounts require submission of a valid company licence or registration certificate. We review all recruiter registrations before approving job posting access. You represent that all documents submitted are genuine and that you are authorised to act on behalf of the company you register.
3.3 Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must notify us immediately at support@emps.co.in if you suspect unauthorised access to your account. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorised use of your account.
3.4 Account Suspension and Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, submit fraudulent verification documents, post misleading job listings, or engage in any activity harmful to users or the platform.
4. User Conduct and Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information in your profile, documents, or job postings
- Submit forged or altered company verification documents
- Post job listings for positions that do not exist or are intended to collect personal data deceptively
- Harass, abuse, discriminate against, or harm other users
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, including violation of Indian labour laws
- Upload malicious software, viruses, or harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Scrape, crawl, or collect data from the Service without our written permission
- Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or bans
- Misuse push notification opt-in to send unsolicited messages
5. Content and Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of content you submit, including resumes, profile information, job postings, and uploaded documents. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, display, and distribute it solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
5.2 Our Content
The Abroad Jobs platform, its design, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from our platform content without written permission.
5.3 Job Posting Content
Recruiters are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and completeness of job postings. Job listings must comply with applicable Indian employment and anti-discrimination laws.
6. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, available at https://emps.co.in/privacy-policy.html, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
Data Protection: Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, protect, and share your personal information, including payment data, device tokens, and uploaded documents.
7. Job Applications and Employment
7.1 No Employment Guarantee
Abroad Jobs is a platform that facilitates connections between job seekers and employers. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in employment, job interviews, or any particular outcome.
7.2 Third-Party Employers
Job postings are created by independent recruiters and employers. We review postings before they are published; however, we are not responsible for the accuracy of job descriptions, the conduct of employers during the hiring process, or employment decisions made by recruiters.
7.3 Background Checks
Employers and recruiters may conduct background verification, reference checks, and document verification of information you provide through the platform. You consent to such verification when you apply for a position.
8. Subscription Plans and Payments
8.1 Free and Premium Features
Basic use of the Service (browsing jobs, submitting applications) is free for job seekers. Premium subscription plans are available for both job seekers and recruiters, offering enhanced features such as priority application visibility, advanced search filters, and expanded job posting limits.
8.2 Subscription Billing
When you subscribe to a premium plan:
- You will be charged the plan price at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual as selected)
- All prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) inclusive of applicable taxes
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor
- An invoice will be sent to your registered email address after each successful payment
8.3 Auto-Renewal
Auto-Renewal Notice: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. By subscribing, you authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
8.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through the app (Account → Subscription → Cancel Plan). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to premium features until that date. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.
8.5 Refunds
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. Exceptions may be considered at our sole discretion in cases of verified technical errors or duplicate charges. To request a refund, contact support@emps.co.in within 7 days of the charge.
8.6 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of price changes before they apply to your account. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.
8.7 Failed Payments
If a payment fails, we may retry the charge and notify you by email. If payment cannot be collected after reasonable attempts, your subscription will be downgraded to the free tier.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
9.1 Service Availability
We strive to maintain Service availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
9.2 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Abroad Jobs and its affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and licensors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Abroad Jobs and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, submission of false or fraudulent content, or infringement of any third-party rights.
11. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the app settings or by emailing support@emps.co.in. Upon deletion:
- Your profile will be removed from public view immediately
- Your personal data will be deleted within 90 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records retained for 7 years)
- Active subscriptions will be cancelled and access will continue until the end of the paid period
- Submitted job applications will be anonymised but may be retained for the employer's record-keeping
12. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through an in-app notification or email at least 15 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
13. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000, and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India. We encourage you to contact us first at support@emps.co.in to resolve any concerns before initiating legal proceedings.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
15. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Abroad Jobs regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, understandings, and representations.
